Coaching with Barb

I believe that coaching picked me I did not pick it. It is something that I have done as long as I can remember. Over the last few years, I have felt a pull to do it for my career, not just my side gig. As I was praying about the decision I knew I wanted additional training from current full-time coaches, so I looked into different certification programs.

My 20 years of experience combined with certification courses have helped numerous clients reach their goals. I took a 16 week course through an ICF accredited coaching program. During the time of the course, we had papers to write, weekly exams/homework to complete and buddy coaching. And then a year later I did another FICC certification through the FEW Coaching Program.

A coaching session can be done in person, over the phone or we can set up a Zoom call if the client prefers. At that beginning of every call we start by clarifying what the client wants to be coached on during that sessions and what they want the outcome of the call to be. After that we go into how things look now, what they want them to look like going forward and what strategies we can put together to get from the vision to goal completion.

The sessions are 50 minutes. From my experience, I have learned it takes at least six coaching sessions for the client to feel the forward momentum and the ability to continue without accountability. Some clients have chosen to continue after six and have a call once a month to keep on track. There is no hard and fast rule; it is a program set up for you individually.

During free consultation we talk about what coaching is and what can be expected. If the decision is made to go forward we set up sessions according to what fits your needs.
